Presence
"And surely I am with you always."
— Matthew 28:20
Ever-present God,
I am so often absent from myself, lost in my thoughts, my regrets about the past, my worries about tomorrow. I miss the present moment, the only one that truly exists.
Teach me the art of presence. To be fully where I am, with whom I am, in what I am doing. To fully savor each moment instead of passing through it distractedly.
May I feel the life pulsing in me now, breathe consciously, truly see what surrounds me. In this presence to the moment, may I also discover You, present in every breath, every heartbeat.
Amen.

Reflection
The present moment is all we truly have. Today, several times, stop and ask yourself: Am I present now? What can I see, hear, feel?
For those who live in the past or future and struggle to inhabit the present.
