The Five Senses
"Come and see."
— John 1:39
Creator,
You have given me five windows to the world: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch. Through my senses, I can experience the richness of creation.
Thank You for my eyes that see the beauties of the world. Thank You for my ears that hear music and beloved voices. Thank You for my nose that breathes the fragrances of nature. Thank You for my tongue that savors food. Thank You for my skin that feels caresses.
May I not use my senses automatically, but consciously awaken them. May I truly taste what I eat, truly listen to what I hear, truly see what surrounds me.
Amen.

Reflection
Today, choose one sense and particularly awaken it. Really look, really listen, really taste. Attention to the senses brings us back to the present moment.
For those who have lost the use of a sense and that we may use ours fully.
