Honoring Your Parents
"Honor your father and your mother."
— Exodus 20:12
Heavenly Father,
I think of my parents, of all they gave me. Their imperfect but sincere love, their sacrifices, their presence. They did their best with what they had.
Thank You for my parents. For the life they gave me, for the values they passed on, for their support through the years. Even if our relationship has had its difficulties, I recognize all I owe them.
Help me honor them, forgive their mistakes as I would want mine forgiven, express my gratitude while there is still time.
Amen.

Reflection
When did you last say thank you to your parents? If possible, express your gratitude to them today.
For all parents and for healthy, loving parent-child relationships.
