Honoring Your Parents
"Honor your father and your mother."
— Exodus 20:12
Heavenly Father,
I think of my parents, of all they gave me. Life first, but also their love, their time, their sacrifices. Their education, imperfect but sincere.
Thank You for my parents. For what they passed on to me, for their presence in my life, for their support through the years. Even with its difficulties, this relationship is foundational.
May I honor them. Thank them, forgive their mistakes, express my love while there is still time. Parents are not eternal.
Amen.

Reflection
When did you last say thank you to your parents? If possible, express your gratitude to them.
For all parents and for healthy parent-child relationships.
