Goodness
"Be kind to one another."
— Ephesians 4:32
God of goodness,
Goodness sometimes seems like an outdated virtue in a world that values competition and self-assertion. Being good can seem naive or weak.
Yet You call me to goodness. That quality which sees the best in everyone, which performs selfless acts, which softens the harshness of the world.
Help me be good today. In my words, my gestures, my thoughts. May my goodness be sincere and not calculated, generous and not conditional. Goodness changes the world, one gesture at a time.
Amen.

Reflection
What act of goodness can you perform today? Toward a loved one, a colleague, a stranger? Goodness is contagious.
For goodness to spread in our world.
