Moderation
"Everything should be done in a fitting and orderly way."
— 1 Corinthians 14:40
Lord of balance,
I tend toward extremes: all or nothing, excess or deprivation, boundless enthusiasm or total discouragement. This roller coaster life exhausts me.
Teach me moderation, the middle way. Neither too much nor too little, but the measure that fits. Moderation in my ambitions, in my pleasures, in my efforts, in my expectations.
May I find a sustainable rhythm, a lasting balance. Not explosions followed by collapses, but serene consistency. Help me live with measure and wisdom.
Amen.

Reflection
In what area do you tend toward extremes? How could you find more moderation and balance?
For those who oscillate between extremes and seek the middle way.
