The Body as Temple
"Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit?"
— 1 Corinthians 6:19
Creator of my body,
I am sometimes at war with my body. I judge it, criticize it, mistreat it. I wish it were different, more conforming to standards, more performant.
Help me inhabit my body with respect. This body that allows me to live, to feel, to touch, to embrace. This imperfect but wonderful body that faithfully accompanies me day after day.
May I care for it as for a sacred temple. May I listen to it when it speaks of fatigue, hunger, the need for movement. May I celebrate it as it is, unique and precious, created by You.
Amen.

Reflection
Your body is your home and the temple of the Spirit. How can you show it respect today? A moment of stretching, healthy food, well-deserved rest?
For those who struggle with body image and seek reconciliation.
