Kindness
"Clothe yourselves with compassion, kindness, humility, gentleness and patience."
— Colossians 3:12
Father of goodness,
I can be so critical, so quick to judge, so harsh in my thoughts and words. Toward myself first, then toward others. This severity poisons my relationships and my heart.
Teach me kindness. That gentle gaze which seeks the good in every person, which gives the benefit of the doubt, which forgives clumsiness. That word which encourages rather than criticizes, which lifts up rather than tears down.
May I see others with Your eyes, with compassion and understanding. May my presence be soothing, comforting, beneficial. May I be for each person a reflection of Your infinite kindness.
Amen.

Reflection
Kindness begins with yourself. Today, speak to yourself gently, as you would to a dear friend. Then extend that kindness to those around you.
For those who suffer from judgment and need kindness.
